ROMANS ROAD TO SALVATION:
* The following passages from the book of Romans, which was written by the Apostle Paul, are commonly referred to as the Romans Rd. to salvation. If you’ve never accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, please allow the Holy Spirit to speak into your life as you read the following.......... Step #1 - All Are Sinners - Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This simply means that we have all made mistakes in our life. There is no one who is perfect and we can’t be good enough to earn salvation because even the smallest sin separates from God. Step #2 - Sin Results In Death - Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Because we have sinned, and because God is holy, our sin causes spiritual death. Wages are something that is earned, but we can’t earn salvation. It can’t be bought in any way shape or form. But Jesus paid the price for our sins when he died on the cross as our substitute. That is why He offers us the gift of salvation by his grace and love. Step #3 - The Cross Is God's Provision For Salvation - Romans 5:6-8 “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus knew we could never be good enough to earn salvation so he proved his love to us by dying for us. He didn’t wait for us to be good enough or to clean up our act because he knew he’d be waiting forever and none of us have forever. He died to save us from our sin while we were in our sin. Step #4 - We Receive Salvation Through Confession - Romans 10:9, 10 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” It takes more than just believing in our head, we must believe in our heart. This is why we must be willing to confess it unashamedly, for if we truly give our heart to Christ we’ll never be ashamed of Him. Step #5 - The Assurance of Salvation - Romans 8:16 - “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.” Knowing that you are saved is more than goosebumps and good feelings because salvation provides no promises against hardship. However, when you give your life to Christ, he gives His Spirit to live in you so you’ll never spend a day alone again. He will strengthen, empower, anoint, guide, restore, replenish and equip your heart and mind to do his will. And as you stand on His Word, you can rest assured in it’s promises and the Spirit will confirm the Word to be true. You Shall be Saved!
Are you willing to accept the statements as true? Do you acknowledge you are a sinner? Do you believe that the death of Jesus on the cross is sufficient for you to be forgiven of your sins? Do you believe and willingly confess that Jesus is God, and that He has been resurrected? Do you now understand that by faith, you are a child of God? Simply pray to confirm the decision you have made, and then begin reading the Bible, spending time in prayer, and faithfully attending a church where the Word of God is preached. * MAY THE LORD BE YOUR STRENGTH!
